FHA Standards for Appraisers is a 3-hour continuing education course that delivers a practical, real-world look at FHA appraisal requirements, helping appraisers confidently navigate assignments where property condition matters just as much as value. You’ll explore how FHA appraisals differ from conventional work, why FHA guidelines exist, and how concepts like safety, soundness, and security directly impact loan eligibility. Through realistic scenarios and property examples, the course connects FHA policy to everyday appraisal decisionsso you can recognize issues faster, avoid over-conditioning, and clearly distinguish between cosmetic concerns and true FHA violations.

More than just rules, this course focuses on how to apply FHA standards in practice. You’ll learn how to identify and report common deficiencies, use HUD Handbook 4000.1 as a working tool, and produce clear, defensible appraisal reports that stand up to lender and reviewer scrutiny. With a strong emphasis on professional boundaries, compliance, and risk awareness, this course equips you to handle FHA assignments with clarity, confidence, and credibility in a highly regulated environment.
